Extension to small business grant for Canterbury businesses
Financial support is now available to small businesses requiring engineering or building reports thanks to an extension of the existing Independent Advice for Small Business grant.
The Independent Advice for Small Business grant was established by the Red Cross in January 2012, with assistance from Recover Canterbury. The grant of up $750 aims to help small and family run businesses access professional legal and accounting advice in relation to the effect of earthquakes on their business.
The extension to the grant means that it can now also be used to provide financial assistance to help small businesses access engineering and building reports. Recover Canterbury Communications Manager Pip Tschudin says the extension of the Independent Advice for Small Business grant will be an enormous relief to many small business owners as it gives them a financial boost while helping to alleviate some of the uncertainty around their future.
Any business that wants to apply for the grant can contact Recover Canterbury on 0800 50 50 96 or see www.recovercanterbury.co.nz.
