New Plymouth Branch Quiz Evening
On Thursday 19th July we held the annual Taranaki Quiz Night. Aimed at testing the knowledge of our local CA’s and their peer’s and to see who would be crowned winner of 2012. On Thursday 19th July the Taranaki branch held their annual Quiz Night. This was aimed at testing the knowledge of our local CA’s and their peer’s and to see who would be crowned winner of 2012.
With 70 people in attendance there were 12 teams vying for the title. With Methanex and Shell Todd Oil Services tipped to be the favourites the score sheet was being monitored closely as the rounds progressed throughout the evening.
At half time Business Focus 2 were already sitting in the lead with a four point buffer but the next four teams were pretty close in points. With seven rounds left to determine the winner it was still far from over. We were pleased to award $50 Centre City Vouchers as spot prizes during the break and the lucky winners were Max Brough and Karl Groot.
Quiz Master Laurie Jordan (NZICA Councillor and Local Leadership Team Member) kept everyone on their toe’s with complex questions and the odd curve ball in the mix to ensure participants were thinking outside the square, proving costly to some participants.
At full time Business Focus 2 managed to maintain their lead and take out the title of Quiz winners for 2012. Not far behind in second were BDO B Team and in 3rd team Busing Russell.
Thank you to everyone for braving the cold and coming out to have an enjoyable night out with friends and colleagues. The event was a success and will be sure to return in 2013. Thanks to Laurie Jordan for taking on the Quiz Master duties and to DeCanta Tapas Bar for the use of their function room for this event.
