Give back to the profession

South Island members interested in giving back to the profession have an opportunity to act as mentors for secondary school students for an afternoon in February/March.

The Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) is running an Enterprise Day (E-Day) throughout the  South Island. It will cater for students taking part in the YES programme under business studies/commerce this year. The E-Day will provide students with information about running their own business, and that’s where members can help.

During the mentoring session students get 10 minutes with four mentors. The mentors listen to the students’ ideas and provide feedback over a period of approximately an hour and a half. This has proven to be very valuable for students.

Additionally, if any mentors are interested in working with teams throughout the year, this would be greatly appreciated.

If you are interesting in helping with the mentoring session at the upcoming E-day please contact the Regional Co-ordinator in your area:
