New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants

I am struggling with a difficult accounting issue which does not seem to be covered in any material I can find. How do I tackle it?

Perhaps the first port of call should be your auditor (if you have one) who will be able to point you in the right direction.

The Not-for-Profit Financial Reporting Guide gives guidance on many different reporting issues and may be of assistance. Topics covered include accounting for grants, donations and bequests as well as various assets (things we own) and liabilities (things we owe). The guide is written for entities required to, or which choose to, follow New Zealand equivalents to International Financial Reporting Standards. However entities following New Zealand Financial Reporting Standards may also find assistance.

The Accounting Standards section of the Institute is happy to provide information to guide persons making enquiries to the most appropriate sources of information. However, they are not able to provide advice regarding any question that is raised.

Alternatively you could seek advice from a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Professional development and networking opportunities are also offered through the Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch special interest groups.
