Chartered Accountant

 

The current academic programme that you must complete to become a Chartered Accountant is:
 
• Four years’ degree level study (480 points/credits)

• A bachelors degree at an Approved Tertiary Education Institution (ATEI) or an NZQA-accredited bachelor’s degree at a New Zealand university, polytechnic or institute of technology

• Coverage of the following accounting and business topics at an ATEI:

 

 

Advanced financial accounting
 
Advanced management accounting
 
Two further 300 level accounting or business papers  
 
Auditing
 
New Zealand taxation
 
Business finance/treasury
Accounting information systems
 
New Zealand commercial law
 
Organisational management
 
Statistics
 
Economics
