Associate Chartered Accountant

 

To become an Associate Chartered Accountant you must complete:
 
• A bachelors degree with an accounting major awarded by an Approved Tertiary Education Institution (ATEI)

 

OR

 

• A bachelors degree at an ATEI or an NZQA-accredited bachelors degree at a New Zealand university, polytechnic or institute of technology, plus coverage of the following accounting and business topics at an ATEI:

 

 

200 level financial accounting
 
300 level financial accounting or management accounting
 
One 300 level accounting course from one of the following areas (in an area different to the 300 level topic already chosen):  

 

financial accounting, management accounting, auditing, New Zealand taxation, business finance, accounting information systems
Four business courses (100 level or higher) across four of the following subject areas:
 
New Zealand commercial law, economics, business finance, information systems, management, insolvency, marketing
